Riley

The girls always love to keep things interesting around here. Riley started throwing up yesterday morning and then started running a temperature in the middle of the night last night. It was almost 104 at one point. She hasn't even been off antibiotics for a week yet, so they were afraid her pneumonia & ear infections were back when I took her to the doctor this morning. Her ears looked great, but she was concerned with how she looked and her stomach was not feeling right. She sent me to Children's Hospital Outpatient in Anderson for a chest x-ray, stomach x-ray, and blood work. Boy was that a trip with a 2-year-old! Emily was with Mamaw Patti, so it was just Riley and I. Of course, they wouldn't let me in to hold her for the x-rays since I'm pregnant, so I didn't know how well that would go over. For the most part, she did great and was such a big girl. After that, we went back to the doctor's office again in Batavia. Everything ended up coming back ok. Her pneumonia was cleared up and she didn't have any obstructions in her belly. That was what the doctor thought maybe was causing an infection to cause such a high fever. We're going to watch her closely for a few days and go from there, but we're assuming it is just a virus she caught. We are home and Riley is sleeping, so that is a good sign. She was so good today and the nurses were great with her. They even gave her double stuffed animals, stickers, and suckers to bring home to Emily so she wouldn't feel left out.
You just never know what you're going to find out when you read the blog, do you?! Hopefully, the rest of the week will be uneventful and Friday's ultrasound will bring good news.
